REPORT ON SCOUTING AND GUIDING-
2009-10
Two
Scouts of our Vidyalaya Mast. Yuvraj & Mast Neeraj successfully completed the
Rashtrapati testing camp held at Gadpuri.
During the Session 2009-10; 32 Scouts, 32 Guides 24 cubs and 24 Bulbuls were registered
under Bharat Scouts and Guides, KVS, Bhopal Division. There are four scout masters and two
guide captains in the Vidyalaya.
Dr. Mrs Kanak Lata and Mrs.Pushpalata Verma had gone to National Training Centre,
Panchmarhi for H.W.B (Himalayan Wood Badge) training Course. Mr. L.Prasad had gone to
K.V.Bina for the training of Advance Course. Mr. C.D.Gaware had gone to K.V.Bina as a
trainer. Mr. P.S.Kanode attended the Pre-Rajyapuraskar Testing Camp (Scouts) as Head
Examiner while Dr.Mrs. Kanak Lata attended the same camp (Guides) as an Examiner both the
camps were at K.V Bairagarh from 18/09/09 to 20/09/09.
Two scouts named Mast Bhushan Sahare and
Mast Wasim Khan and one Guide named Miss Renuka Dudhe had been selected for attending the
Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp- 2009 to be held at K.V No.1 and No.2 Tambarum, Chennai with
effect from 6/10/09 to 10/10/09.
Scouts and Guides activities are being carried out in the Vidyalaya under the
able guidance of experienced scoutmaster and guide captains. About 250 children's are
registered as Scouts and Guides, Cubs and Bulbuls. Scouts and Guides activities act as a
major means of acquiring life skills. Various camps are being organized at regular
intervals to make the student aware of their responsibilities and to shape their
personalities and are trained for Rajyapuraskar and Rashtrapati puraskars. Cubs and
Bulbuls utsav is held at cluster level.Pratham sopan test is conducted at the vidyalaya
level while dwitiya and tritiya sopan tests are held at cluster level. Rajya puraskar test
is held at Regional level whereas Rashtrapati puraskar test is held at national level.Of
the few students recommended for Rashtrapati puraskar , 6 succeeded and were awarded
Rashtrapati puraskar this year. Co-curricular activities are considered as an inseparable
part of the educational endeavor in the school .These activities are recognized as part of
regular curriculum for the complete education of child.Allround development of the
children demands promoting interests in cultural and literary activities. Co-curricular
activities cater to this need. Through co-curricular activities children are able to have
a sound physical health, body development, Vitality, endurance which is important for
future vocational life and personal happiness. It also contributes in inculcating moral
ideas and moral standards and develops aesthetic sensibility in the child. The children
take part in all major competitions of school and interschool levels, which automatically
help them learn an inner discipline. Celebration of social festivals and observation of
commemorative days provide knowledge of our culture thus making the vidyalaya not merely a
place of formal learning but also communicate the knowledge of gracious art of
living'
To promote the educative functions of CCA various
tours are being organized regularly in the vidyalaya. Previous year two batches were sent
for trekking in Uttaranchal. This year a visit to holy places was organized and the
students from I to V standard visited the nearby church, mosque and temple. They also
enjoyed community lunch. The students from VI to VIII went on a picnic whereas an
excursion tour was organized for the students of classes from IX to XII. Trekking and
camping programmes are organized for the Scouts and Guides. All these activities train the
children for social life and they learn inner discipline also. |
